If you are looking to explore the world of words you can join this group using a wide range of techniques to unlock imagination and illustrate how enjoyable using words can be.
Creative Writing 3 - Fun With Words, through guidance and self-interest, will explore how words, and ways we use them, can make our lives more satisfying and improve our health and wellbeing.
We’ll explore the difference between conversation, letters, emails, documents and stories. We will work with story ideas, prompts and selected subjects as we look at character development; ‘showing’ versus ‘telling’; plot structure; narrative viewpoints; dialogue and understanding how much detail is needed to paint pictures in the minds of readers.
Finally, but essentially, we will look at how to review and revise.
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month, 10am till noon in Stanway.
Members are only asked to supply a large notebook and pen, but you will find it very useful to have access to a computer and printer of some sort.
Members must be prepared to do some reading and writing between meetings and be willing to share your writing within the group to build confidence and understanding of fellow members.
