The aim of this Group is to provide practical guidance, training and experience to U3A members with an altruistic outlook, in order to provide assistance to individuals and organisations in our community. The response has been very positive.

Members have opted to help pupils with reading; lead health and wellbeing walks; and provide assistance with Colchester Credit Union. Other opportunities include enabling those with disabilities to do their weekly shop; helping the recovery of stroke victims; guiding primary school pupils interested in gardening and assisting with social afternoons for the elderly. This Group works in partnership with Age Concern Colchester to give members of the group access to the appropriate checks, not available through their primary volunteering route.
