Mahjong as we know it today, originated in the late 19th Century in China. A tile based game for skill, strategy and calculation with a degree of chance it is fascinating and can become addictive!

Our group started in December 2014 and is a lively and friendly crowd. The Group meets on Monday afternoons for beginners and existing players in the Committee Room at Stanway Community Centre. Members give the host £1 for each session. to cover refreshments.

Meetings last for approximately two hours. Not everyone plays, it depends on availability. We have novices and experienced players and we can teach anyone who would like to learn. It is not difficult, it just requires a certain amount of concentration, adaptability and competitiveness.
