The Golf Group held their Late Summer Charity Competition at Birch Grove Golf Club on Monday 7th September. Twenty-two players contested for the Bob Keen Trophy, held in memory of our dear friend, Bob. The Competition was held to raise funds for Motor Neutron Disease, the disease from which Bob suffered.

The Competition was played in brilliant sunshine but after many weeks without rain the hard ground made conditions difficult. However, in a very close contest Caroline Spencer overcame these to claim the trophy with a score of 28.5 net. Second was Alan Blois on 29 followed by Jan Blackmore on 31. Prizes were presented by John Allen, our Events Organiser.

Thanks were extended to Birch Grove Golf Club for hosting the event and for providing players with a welcome breakfast bap on return to the clubhouse. John was thanked for organising the competition Christine and Ralph for running the raffle and all who donated prizes for the raffle.
Through players contributions, donations and the raffle the group raised the fantastic sum of £539 for MNDA.
