Members were educated and entertained by fellow member Hansa Rathod and her able assistants who:

• explained the meaning of and preparation for various festivals including the colourful patterns and lamp displays used
• described how typical Indian weddings take place
• demonstrated the different saris and the materials used, and how they differ in each Indian state
• demonstrated how saris are worn, with the assistance of our resident "model" (Chair Linda Anderson!)
• described how different foods are linked to different states of India
• demonstrated Indian dancing -
