The Golf Group held their Late Summer Charity Competition at Birch Grove Golf Club on Monday 15th September. Twenty-seven players contested for the Bob Keen Trophy over 9 holes.
The Competition was played in very windy conditions which resulted in scores being higher than usual. However, one player dealt with the strong winds better than the rest. Jan Blackmore returned an excellent card of 23 net to win the trophy and first prize. Second was Howard Bond on 27 net followed by Alan Blois on 29 net. Prizes were presented by John Allen, the Event Organiser.

Through players contributions, donations and a raffle a fantastic sum of £670 was raised on the day. This money will be split between the group's chosen charities, MNDA and St Helena Hospice.
Many thanks to John for organising the competition, to Christine and Ralph for running the raffle, to Bernard for handling the registration and payment, to Graham and Keith for their help on the day and to all who donated prizes for the raffle, making this a most successful day.
