Stanway u3a held a "Social Xtra" party on 27th May 2022 to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

It was well attended and everyone brought something to eat, much of it being homemade traditional fare such as jam sandwiches, jam tarts, blancmange trifle, cakes and scones etc.

• A scrumptious buffet
• Songs from our Sing From The Heart Group led by Angela Dennis
• Music ranging from the 50's through to the 80's, set to a scrolling themed picture slideshow "through the ages"
• A "dance to music" demo with audience participation, led by Lynsey from Strollercise
• "Pass the Parcel" with lots of prizes

The afternoon was rounded off by members dancing to the music being played, before all hands on deck to clear the hall.

It's fair to say that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, as evidenced by the accompanying photos.

Thanks go to the Social Squad for organising the event, the many volunteers who helped set up the hall, served up teas, and to the performers who entertained members, plus of course the attendees who all joined in the activities.
