There is good evidence with studies reporting that meditation helps relieve our subjective levels of anxiety and depression, and improves attention, concentration, and overall psychological well-being. A side benefit has been found that for people of our age it has a profound effect on the ageing process of the brain.
The groups are on a drop-in basis for the regular meetings, and occasionally there will be a five week course.
A Group meets at Wivenhoe, weekly on Tuesdays from 10am finishing at noon, and a Group meets at Eight Ash Green, weekly on Thursdays from 10am to Noon. Both groups can take 15-20 people. There will be a monthly charge of £10 which is to cover the cost of the hall and refreshments. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available at each meeting.
New members are always welcome and you can try a session to see if it is for you; you do not have to commit to the Group by paying the fee until the next collection. The Groups are very sociable and interaction within the group is an important part of the meetings.
