We are a very friendly group of Ten Pin bowlers and hold regular weekly sessions where our popularity is increasing regularly. We have welcomed many new players at this sociable, competitive sport and everyone enjoys checking on each other’s’ scores!
We meet every Tuesday morning at Colchester Ten Pin (Cowdray Ave.) where there is free parking. All the lanes are fully automated and most weights of bowling balls are available. We arrive at 10:00 am for a 10:30 start and play until approx. 12:30. We occasionally have a break during school holidays or alternatively meet earlier as the Centre gets fully booked.
Three games and drinks/biscuits (tea/coffee) cost just £5. We stop for drinks after the 1st game. Please wear your own indoor shoes ensuring they are safe and comfortable.
There is no limit to the number of players we can accommodate and attendance is usually around 30+. However, advanced bowling skills and expertise are not essential as these are primarily enjoyable experiences which have social as well as keep-fit benefits, although players are competitive and try to improve their personal scores.
We have an annual Christmas buffet at which trophies are awarded for top lady and gent ten-pin bowlers throughout the year. Last year’s winners’ photos shown here and our active bowling activity
